CHONGQING, China – Sept. 19 – A striking new electric motorcycle dubbed the “SkyLeap” stole the spotlight at the Chongqing International Motorcycle Expo today. Unveiled by Chinese manufacturer Chongqing Summit Yttrium Power Technology Co., Ltd (referred to as E-Power below), the bold and original design is not just a head-turner—it’s packed with engineering innovations that redefine lightweight, high-performance electric mobility.
The SkyLeap immediately drew crowds of industry professionals, and for good reason. Its frame and rear swingarm are crafted from high-strength steel, offering superior impact resistance and stability compared to common aluminum alloy setups—making it especially suited for off-road and stunt riding. Adding to its agility, the suspended battery placement lowers the center of gravity, greatly enhancing handling and ride comfort.
Another standout feature is the external secondary transmission system, which is both highly efficient and exceptionally durable. With an IP76 waterproof rating, the bike remains reliable and easy to maintain even under harsh riding conditions.
Performance specs are just as impressive: a peak power output of 10kW delivers a staggering 378 N·m of torque, with a top speed of 80 km/h. It can cover up to 100 kilometers on a single charge at a constant speed of 80 km/h. Perhaps most astonishing is its total weight—including the battery—of just 75.8 kg, making it significantly lighter than most competing models.
The SkyLeap is also equipped with premium components including a 200mm inverted front fork, 76mm pneumatic rear shock absorber, and dual four-piston disc brakes, offering both superior control and safety.
“This was the first e-moto that caught my eye in the entire exhibition,” said one German attendee. “The design language is advanced and full of personality.”
Alongside the SkyLeap, E-Power also showcased the “Black Warrior SAMURAI,” the world’s first ultra-light high-speed electric motorcycle built with a carbon fiber frame and wheels. Aimed at the premium market, it is priced at ¥29,800 RMB in China and around $8,000 USD internationally.
Founded in October 2021, E-Power combines European mechanical design expertise with domestic R&D capabilities. The company is focused on developing high-performance electric motorcycles with breakthroughs in solid-state batteries, lightweight materials, and smart systems.
